Monali Thakur is an Indian singer and actress, who is the recipient of several awards including National Film Award. She started her singing career by recording ‘Sundar Kato Sundar’ from the 2000 Bengali film Sajoni Aamar Sohag. However, she gained recognition after participating in the singing reality show Indian Idol in 2005. Soon after, she made her Bollywood debut by recording ‘Kubool Kar Le’ in the 2006 film Jaan-E-Mann, under the composition of Anu Malik. She has recorded songs for number of movies, including Race (2008), Billu (2009), Dulha Mil Gaya (2010), Anjaana Anjaani (2010), Rascals (2011), Lootera (2013), Gunday (2014), Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), Baaghi (2016), Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), Gold (2018), Shakuntala Devi (2020) and many more. She married Maik Richter, a restaurateur based in Switzerland in 2017.
