Mere Husband Ki Biwi is a story set in New Delhi that narrates the tale of Ankur Chadda (Arjun Kapoor) who is divorced from his first wife, Prabhleen Dhillon (Bhumi Pednekar). Ankur is engaged to his college classmate Antara Khanna (Rakul Preet Singh), a sports medicine doctor. Despite Ankur revealing that he still gets nightmares about his past and ugly fights with Prabhleen, Antara accepts him. All goes well until one day, Prabhleen meets with an accident and is diagnosed with retrograde amnesia. She has forgotten the last five years of her life and her last memory is Ankur proposing to her. The doctor, Arun Mathur (Tiku Talsania) advises Ankur to be around her and to make sure that she doesn't get any shock or trauma. What happens next forms the rest of the film.
