Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue is inspired by the story of a real-life hero, Late Jaswant Singh Gill (Akshay Kumar), an engineer-miner who unfolded and executed a rescue operation mission to save the lives of hundreds of trapped miners in a flooded coal mine. The story showcases Gill's courage and resilience on how he goes about executing his plan and overcome the adversities in a race against time rescue mission which was never heard or witnessed ever in India’s coal mining operation history.
