Peepli Live is a satirical black comedy. The movie revolves around Natha (Omkar Das Manikpuri), a poor farmer from a small village called Peepli. Natha struggles for money to feed his family and goes to his elder brother, Budhia (Raghubir Yadav), for suggestions. The two come up with a plan to commit suicide. Natha is encouraged by his brother to commit suicide as it will wave away all his loans and his family will receive a huge amount of money as farmer’s compensation for his death. However, the media learns about his intentions to commit suicide and news reporters come to Peepli for the live reporting of his death.
