Rakht Charitra 2 is a political action thriller drama based on the life of politician Paritala Ravindra. The movie is a sequel to Rakht Charitra that was released two months prior. Pratap Ravi (Vivek Oberoi) becomes the minister after killing the family of his rival, Suryanarayana Reddy (Suriya) in a bomb blast. Surya vows to avenge his family’s death and is determined to kill Pratap Ravi. Surya is helped by Krishnaswamy, the leader of the opposition Party and new rival of Pratap Ravi, who requests Surya to convince his wife Bhavani (Priyamani) to stand for election against Ravi. Bhavani winning in the election will help Surya to grow in power and finish Ravi easily.
