Based on true incidents, Stree is set in the small town of Chanderi, which is possessed by a female spirit called ‘Stree’ who is known for abducting men by calling their names from behind and leaving their clothes behind. No one knows why ‘Stree’ does so and whats the mystery behind it. To keep ‘Stree’ at bay the local men write an inscription on their walls which reads – ‘O Stree, Kal Aana’ reading which she goes back. Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) who is a tailor by profession loses one of his friends to ‘Stree’ after which he decides to get to the root cause behind the mystery and the spirit.
