Taaqatwar is an action drama. An honest municipal officer, Vijay Sharma (Anupam Kher), takes the responsibility of cleansing the city from all illegal constructions, most of which are done by a builder named Munjal Khurana (Shakti Kapoor). Vijay also rejects the bribe from Munjal, and thus Munjal gets him killed. Later, Vijay’s son, Police Inspector Amar Sharma (Govinda) vows to avenge the death of his father by setting scores right with Khurana. Will Amar succeed in his mission?
