Tauba Tera Jalwa is a romantic comedy set in a town in Uttar Pradesh where a real estate tycoon named Romi Tyagi (Jatin Khurana), who is a self-made man and only loves himself is married to Rinku (Angela Krislinzki), a very beautiful girl, who believes in fairy tales. Romi is presented to enter politics and happens to meet Professor Syed Ahmad (Rajesh Sharma) who helps the former by writing his political speeches. Professor Syed requests Romi to lend his palatial bungalow for his NRI wife Laila Khan (Ameesha Patel) who is on a short visit to India. Romi obliges Professor by letting Laila stay in his bungalow but little do Rinku and Romi know that because of Laila their life is going change.
