Tera Yaar Hoon Main follows the unusual and heartfelt bond between a young man, his best friend, and the friend’s daughter. Sanju (Aman Indra Kumar), a young man from Nagpur, moves to Mumbai at his mother Saru’s (Mrinal Deshmukh) insistence and stays with her close friend Vishwanath Purohit (Paresh Rawal), fondly known as Vishu. Vishu lives with his wife Nandini (Supriya Pilgaonkar), who has grown resentful of him, and their daughter Anu (Akanksha Sharma), who shares a deep affection for her father. Known for always keeping his promises, Vishu takes his commitments seriously. Meanwhile, Sanju falls in love with Anu, but she does not share his feelings and has already agreed to marry Aditya (Abhishek Mandrecha), her father’s chosen match. As Sanju and Vishu develop a close friendship, Sanju confides his feelings for Anu in him. But Vishu’s commitment to his promise creates an emotional conflict that threatens to complicate their relationships. What follows forms the rest of the film.
