Toofan is an action crime drama. The movie revolves around twin brothers - Toofan and Shyam Jadugar (double role by Amitabh Bachchan). Toofan is a devotee of Lord Hanuman, and has some superhuman powers, while Shyam is a meek magician. Their father Inspector Hanuman (Pran), gives one of his sons, Shyam, to his best friend Ramesh (Ramesh Deo), a magician who dies while performing an escaping trick, while Hanuman was killed by a criminal who also framed him for theft of precious gold bars. Shyam’s motive in life is to perform the trick that claimed his foster father’s life, while Toofan only wants to clear his father’s name and also avenge his death.
