Mehmood Junior was a film and TV actor, writer, director and producer who served in Hindi, Marathi and Punjabi film industries. He started his acting career as a child artist in 1967 with the film Gunehgar and Naunihal. He got his big break in the 1968 in Shammi Kapoor starrer Brahmachari and thereafter did many films including Kati Patang, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Geet Gaata Chal, Imaandaar, Aan Milo Sajna, Haathi Mere Saathi, Caravan, Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se, Judaai, etc. He made his directorial debut with the Marathi film Pagalpan in 1991 and went on to direct movies like Maskari, Karmyog, Tulas Aali Ghara, Adla Badli, etc. On TV he acted in shows like Ek Rishta Saajhedari Ka and Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara. He died of cancer on 08 December 2023 at the age of 67.
