Maya Govind was a well-known lyricist and poet who began her career in Bollywood in the early 70s where she wrote songs for popular movies like Kashmakash (1973), Jalte Badan (1973), Aarop (1974), Qaid (1975), Ek Baar Kaho (1980), Jhoothi (1986), Dalaal (1993), Takkar (1995), Hameshaa (1997), Aetbaar (2004), etc. She had written lyrics for nearly 350 films and authored books and even wrote lyrics for TV shows. She had also co-produced the Govinda starrer Tohfa Mohabbat Ka in 1988 which was directed by her husband Ram Govind. She wasn’t keeping good health for the last few months and breathed her last on 07 April 2022.
