Siddique or Siddique Ismail was a writer, actor, director and producer who predominantly worked in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi cinema as well. He made his uncredited debut as an actor in 1984 in the Malayalam film Nokkethadhoorathu Kannum Nattu. He made his directorial debut with the Malayalam movie Ramji Rao Speaking (1989) and later directed hits like Godfather, Hitler, Friends, Chronic Bachelor, Bodyguard, Bhaskar the Rascal and others. His screenwriting debut came with the Malayalam movie Pappan Priyappetta Pappan (1986). His only Hindi film to date is the superhit Salman Khan starrer Bodyguard (2011). He breathed his last in a hospital in Kochi on 08 August 2023.
