Amba is a social family drama. The movie follows the story of a principled widowed woman, Amba Bhanupratap Singh (Shabana Azmi), who lives with her two sons - Rajendra (Kanwaljit Singh) and Suraj (Anil Kapoor). Rajendra gets married to Prabha (Kiran Juneja), who comes from a wealthy family and idolizes Rajendra. However, one day Rajendra returns home intoxicated and sexually molests and kills Geeta, the daughter of their servant Bhiku. Later, when Amba finds out the truth, she testifies against Rajendra, so he gets hanged for murdering and molesting Geeta. Prabha is devastated with Rajendra’s death and vows to avenge his death. Prabha is all set to turn Suraj and Amba’s life upside down. Will Amba be able to save her family?
