Amne Samne is an action crime drama. The movie follows the story of a young man named Gopi (Mithun Chakraborty), who is a simpleton, and plays along when he is mistaken for a man named Johny, who is also his lookalike, by Jyoti (Bindiya Goswami), who tasks him with a dangerous job. It is then Gopi finds himself against dangerous men and has to be on the run from the police as well as from mafia goons due to his looks that he shares with Johny. Will Gopi be able to escape the danger imposed on him and bring the truth to light?
