Atrangi Re is a romantic psychological drama about a young girl named Rinku (Sara Ali Khan) who lives in the small town of Siwan in Bihar. Rinku tries many times to elope with her long-term boyfriend but is always caught by her maternal grandmothers’ men. Rinku is forcibly married off to a doctor Vishu (Dhanush) by her grandmother and sent off to Delhi. Vishu gets to know about Rinku’s boyfriend and decides to seek a divorce and unite her with her boyfriend Sajjad (Akshay Kumar). Before getting their divorce through Vishu realizes that he has fallen for Rinku and there are more twists and turns to the tale. Does Vishu profess his feelings to Rinku, who does Rinku choose between Vishu and Sajjad? Or there’s something else to this unconventional love triangle? All of this leads to an interesting climax.
