Dhanush is an Indian actor, producer, director, writer, lyricist and playback singer, who has predominantly worked in Tamil films. He started his acting career in 2002, with a Tamil film named Thulluvadho Ilamai. In 2011, Dhanush became an internet sensation when the music video of his song ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’ crossed 100 million views on YouTube. Soon after, he made his debut in Bollywood with the 2013 romantic drama Raanjhanaa, alongside Sonam Kapoor, which earned him Filmfare Best Male Debut Award. He has also acted in R. Balki’s satirical drama Shamitabh (2015), co-starring superstar Amitabh Bachchan. In 2004, he married Aishwarya, actor Rajnikanth’s eldest daughter, and the couple has two sons.
