Awaargi is an action romantic drama. The movie revolves around a man named Azaad (Anil Kapoor), who works for the underworld don Lala Jamal Khan (Anupam Kher). Azaad saves a prostitute named Meena (Meenakshi Sheshadri) from Ranu Bhai, allegiance of Bhau (Paresh Rawal), the rival don. Later, he leaves Meena with a trusted man named Dhirendra (Govinda), a music director, who helps Meena become a singer and succeed in her career. Meanwhile, Bhau’s men are out to find and kill Azaad. Will Azaad be able to protect himself and Meena again from Bhau?
