Begum Jaan is a period drama movie set in the year 1947 during India’s partition with Pakistan. The story revolves around
Begum Jaan (Vidya Balan), a prostitute who runs a brothel. After the partition, Begum Jaan and all the residents of the brothel
are asked to evict the brothel as it lies on the land from where Radcliff Line will pass through. Begum Jaan desperately tries to
save her declining business due to the changing political scenario during the Partition of India. All the prostitutes residing in the
brothel try their best and fight till the end to save their home.
