Bholaa is a neo-noir action crime thriller and the official remake of the 2019 Tamil film Kaithi that follows the story of an ex-convict Bholaa (Ajay Devgn) who after serving ten years of imprisonment, is finally going to an orphanage to meet his daughter Jyoti (Hirva Trivedi) whom he has never seen before. However, his journey is interrupted when he gets to meet ACP Diana Joseph (Tabu) midway who is on her way taking 50 cops who fainted after drinking the spiked drink while attending the retirement party of IG Jayant Malik (Kiran Kumar). Diana fights a gang of thieves and confiscates drugs from them which are worth a thousand crores. She somehow manages to hide the drugs in the basement of the sprawling Lalganj Police Station. Her undercover cop Bhoora (Arpit Ranka) informs her that Ashwathama aka Ashu (Deepak Dobriyal), whose drugs she has confiscated, is determined to finish off the cops. Diana seeks Bholaa’s help to fight the goons and take the fainted cops to the hospital in return for a promise which is to secure Jyoti’s future. Encountering Diana and the drug lords leads to a pathway full of crazy obstacles for Bholaa, with death lurking around every corner. How Bholaa puts an end to this story forms the rest of the film.
