Dedh Ishqiya is a black comedy romantic drama that revolves around Khaalujaan (Naseeruddin Shah) and his nephew Babban (Arshad Warsi), who are conmen and small-time thieves. The two pose as Nawab and seek refuge in a palace at Majidabad while on a run from the law. Khalujan tries to woo a wealthy widow, Begum Para (Madhuri Dixit), and Babban falls in love with Muniya (Huma Qureshi), Begum Para’s maid and constant companion. Muniya and Babban then plan a kidnap that will change everyone’s life. But a twist awaits them as their plan goes haywire leaving Khaalujaan and Babban flabbergasted.
