Dharam Sankat is an action dacoit drama. A dacoit named Jagira (Amrish Puri) has terrorized entire area of the village and kills anyone who crosses his way. He also kills Gopal’s (Raj Babbar) mother, and leaves him an orphan. Gopal is then adopted by a kind-hearted woman named Durga (Rohini Hattangadi), who raises him as her own son Birju (Vinod Khanna). However, things take a complicated turn when Gopal learns that Durga and Birju are related to a dreaded criminal named Dara (Dara Singh), which makes everyone in the village hate them. Gopal also breaks all ties with them. Will Gopal ever be able to soften his heart towards them and accept them?
