Dhobi Ghat is a romance drama that revolves around four strangers – Munna (Prateik Babbar), Shai (Monica Dogra), Yasmin (Kriti Malhotra) and Arun (Aamir Khan). The four people are from different walks of life, yet somehow get connected by fate. Arun is an artist who meets Shai, an American banker who devotes herself to her hobby, photography. After a one-night stand, Arun informs Shai that he isn’t interested in the relationship. Shai then meets a washerman, Munna, who wants to be an actor. Munna helps Shai to shoot, and Shai offers to create a free portfolio for Munna. Meanwhile, Arun finds video diaries of the previous owner, Yasmin, in his apartment, and learns some unsettling information about her.
