Prateik Babbar is the son of veteran actors Raj Babbar and late Smita Patil. Prateik lost his mother soon after his birth and was brought up by his maternal grandmother. Hailing from a film family, he aspired to become an actor at an early age and thus, made his debut in the Aamir Khan Production in 2008 in Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na which also saw the debut of Imran Khan, nephew of Aamir Khan. Prateik has since featured in films such as Ekk Deewana Tha, My Friend Pinto, Aarakshan, Dum Maaro Dum, Dhobi Ghat and Baaghi 2.
