Double XL is a comedy drama story of Saira Khanna (Sonakshi Sinha) who is an upcoming fashion designer from New Delhi and Rajshri Trivedi (Huma Qureshi) who aspires to join a sports channel to become a sports presenter. Due to her double xl size Saira gets rejected by her boyfriend and dumps him while Rajshri fails to bag a job for the same reason. Saira and Rajshri both body shamed and rejected are heartbroken when they meet at a common place and decide to live life on their own terms where only their work and talent will be acknowledged not their physical appearance. How the two undertake their journey of friendship and fulfil their dreams and enjoy life for what they are forms the remaining part of the story.
