Eeshwar is a musical family drama and a remake of the Telugu hit 'Swathimuthyam'. The movie follows the story of a young innocent man named Ishwarchand ‘Ishwar’ (Anil Kapoor), who spreads joy and happiness wherever he goes. However, no one takes him seriously and considers him stupid and takes advantage of his innocence. Ishwar then meets a young widow named Lalita (Vijayashanti), who also has a son, and decides to marry her to free her from all the sadness. How Ishwar deals with all the wrath of the society and how his decision to marry a widow affects his life forms the rest of the plot.
