Inspired by the true events of the 1999 hit-and-run case of Sanjeev Nanda, Jolly LLB is the story of a small-town lawyer Jagdish Tyagi aka Jolly (Arshad Warsi) who shifts to Delhi to make it big. To grab media attention and become famous overnight he files a PIL against one of Delhi's biggest businessman's son who was acquitted in a hit-and-run case. Jolly is pitted against Rajpal (Boman Irani) who is one of the biggest lawyers in town. How Jolly fights and focuses on the most critical court case of his career, is what the remaining part of this courtroom drama is.
