Kanwarlal is an action crime drama. A politician, Suraj Prakash (Raj Babbar) decides to expose the corrupt businessman Kanwarlal (Jeetendra). Suraj decides to stop one of the trucks from Kanwarlal carrying illegal goods, but the truck driver runs over Suraj’s men, and Kanwarlal is arrested for the act. However, he is released when a Junior Public Prosecutor Sandhya (Sujata Mehta) loses his file. Later, Sandhya is arrested, but she is bailed out by none other than Kanwarlal. Kanwarlal also helps her rescue her son, when some goons try to abduct him. It is then she decides to work as his lawyer. The question remains, are the things as simple as they seem, or the two are hiding something from each other?
