Ram Prasad Ghayal (Amitabh Bachchan), an honest Doctor, is leading a happy life with his wife Janki (Dimple Kapadia) and his younger brother Bharat (Arbaaz Ali Khan).This story is also about power hungry people such as political leader Trilochan Tripathi (Paresh Rawal), Mohanlal (Mohan Joshi), and Rana (Mukesh Rishi), an underworld Don. Bharat is in love with Renu (Karishma Kapoor). Raj, brother of Rana is also in love with Renu. Rana with the support of Trilochan Tripathi's political power tries to force Renuka to get married to his brother. When Rana fails to do so, he kill's Bharat, which also results in Janki's death. After losing his beloved family members, Dr. Ram goes into depression and loses his job. When Dr. Ram realizes the death of his wife and brother was not an accident, but a planned murder by Trilochan Tripathi, Mohanlal ND Rana, he decides to take revenge. Politics takes an ugly turn and Mohanlal & Rana Tunga who were friends and partners become sworn enemies.
