Mubarakan is a family romantic comedy-drama about twin brothers Karan and Charan (Arjun Kapoor), who fall in love with Sweety (Ileana D'cruz) and Nafisa (Neha Sharma). Karan cannot marry Sweety as the former's mother dislikes the latter while Charan cannot marry Nafisa as she is a Muslim and won't get his parents approval. To avoid confusion both the brothers seek the help of their paternal uncle, Kartar Singh (Anil Kapoor), to get married. Do both the brothers finally get to marry their lady loves or not forms the crux of the remaining story.
