Piku is a comedy-drama about the relationship of a daughter and her aging father. Piku (Deepika Padukone) lives in Delhi with her widower father, Bhashkor (Amitabh Bachchan), who suffers from chronic constipation and traces every problem with it. His habits and nagging nature often lead to quarrels with her daughter. Bhashkor wishes to visit his ancestral house in Kolkata, however, Piku is unwilling to let him travel alone so she accompanies him. The road trip brings Piku closer to her father despite their contrasting ideologies. Accompanying them in their journey is Rana Chaudhary (Irrfan Khan) a taxi business owner who tries to pacify Piku and helps Bhashkor get rid of his bowel disorder.
