Santaan is a family drama. The movie revolves around a middle-class couple, Sarju Narayan Singh (Jeetendra) and Laxmi (Moushumi Chatterjee), who live happily with their son Amar (Deepak Tijori). Sarju and Laxmi worked really hard and did everything for Amar’s education and his happiness. When Amar grows up, he meets a rich girl named Asha (Neelam Kothari), and pretends to be the son of a rich landlord to impress her. Soon, Asha too falls in love with Amar and the two get married. After marriage, Amar’s secret is revealed, thus to become rich, he disowns his parents and leaves them with nothing. Will Amar ever be able to realize and appreciate the sacrifices his parents made for him?
