Utsav is an erotic musical romantic drama. The movie is the adaptation of the Sanskrit play ‘Mrichakatika’ by ??draka, which is set in the fifth century and follows the story of a courtesan named Vasantsena (Rekha), who dances at King Palaka’s court. However, when she denies the advances of the king's brother-in-law, she has to run away from the palace to save her life. It is then she meets poor Charudatta (Shekhar Suman) and falls in love with him. However, the question remains, what will happen when she gets discovered by the king's men?
