Known for her Indi-pop albums and playback singing in Bollywood, Alisha Chinoy began her singing career with the 1985 music album Jadoo. During the 1990s, she was at the peak of her career and was often referred as the ‘Queen of Indipop’. After the series of hit music albums, Alisha was introduced to music director and composer Bappi Lahiri, with whom she had many collaborations thereafter. In the 1990s, she started to sing songs for Hindi movies. She made her debut as a playback singer in Bollywood with the 1984 action adventure film Adventures of Tarzan. She has also worked in movies like Mr. India (1987), Ram Lakhan (1989), Maha-Sangram (1990), Khiladi (1992), Criminal (1995), Ishq Vishk (2003), Murder (2004), Bunty Aur Babli (2005) and many more. She was married to her manager Rajesh Jhaveri, but the two are now separated.
