Trikal is a social drama set in 1969 India during Portuguese rule. The movie revolves around the matriarch, Dona Maria (Leela Naidu) and her family. After the death of her husband, she tries to carry out seances to communicate with him, but this welcomes the apparitions of various families wronged by Dona Maria’s family. Her granddaughter, Anna (Sushma Prakash) is engaged to Erasmo (Lucky Ali); however, she is in love with Leon (Dalip Tahil) and is pregnant with his baby. On the other hand, the maid of the family, Milagrenia (Neena Gupta), gets impregnant with Ruiz’s baby, who leaves her later, and she is forced to marry an old man. After many years, Ruiz returns to his palatial home, only to find it ruined, and questioning why he returned after so long?
