Salim Ghouse was an Indian film, television and theatre actor as well as theatre director who often appeared in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films. He was born and studied in Chennai after which he graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune before getting his first break as an actor in Shyam Benegal’s Manthan in 1976. He went on to act in films like Kalyug, Chakra, Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho!, Suryaa, Drohi, Maharaja, Soldier & Koyla, etc. He also appeared in well-known Telugu films like Antham, Rakshana, Mugguru Monagallu, etc. In Tamil films like Mani Ratnam’s Thiruda Thiruda, Vettri Vizhaa, Seeman, Chanakya, Vettaikaaran, etc. And Malayalam films such as Thazhvaram & Udayon. He also appeared in TV serials like Subah, Tipu Sultan, Bharat Ek Khoj and Wagle Ki Duniya. He died on 28 April 2022.
