Chandrashekhar Vaidya, better known by his first name Chandrashekhar, was an Indian actor and filmmaker. In the 1940s, he dropped out of college to follow his passion to be an actor. He started his acting career with a small role in the 1950 film Bebas, starring Bharat Bhushan in the lead role. He has acted in over 250 films, some of which are Surang (1953), Aurat Teri Yehi Kahani (1954), Gateway of India (1957), Barsaat Ki Raat (1960), Baat Ek Raat Ki (1962), King Kong (1962), Jahan Ara (1964), Hum Tum Aur Woh (1971), Aandhi (1975), Shankar Dada (1976), etc. Chandrashekhar's son Ashok Shekhar is a television producer and his grandson, Shakti Arora is a famous television and film actor.
