Shakti is an emotional conflict drama between a father and son. Ashwini Kumar (Dilip Kumar) is an upright honest cop who never spares criminals not abiding by the law. Due to an unfortunate incident in his childhood, Ashwini’s son Vijay Kumar (Amitabh Bachchan) turns against his father believing that the former gives preference to duty than anything else. Vijay joins a blacklisted criminal and goes against his father’s wish despite the latter’s warning. Things take a turn around when Vijay is wanted by the law and Ashwini stands at a crossroad where he has to choose between his son and his duty.
