Gufi Paintal was an Indian actor and director. He initially trained as an engineer, but later, along with his younger brother Paintal, decided to become an actor. He acted in many television serials and has worked in some notable Bollywood movies. He made his screen debut in Bollywood with the 1978 romantic comedy Dillagi, directed by Basu Chatterjee. Other important movies of his career include Des Pardes (1978), Suhaag (1994), Daava (1997), Samrat & Co. (2014), etc. He is married to Rekha Paintal and the couple has a son named Harry Paintal. He breathed his last on 05 June 2023 at a hospital in Mumbai's Andheri suburb.
