Kranti is the story of the martyrs of Indian struggle for freedom from 1825 to 1875 who but remained unknown in the pages of history. Sanga (Dilip Kumar) is a poor farmer who revolts against the British for killing his fellow farmers. He manages to escape the clutches of the British to form his own group to fight them but not before getting separated from his wife and two sons. The elder son grows up to become Bharat (Manoj Kumar) who yet again forms his own army to save his countrymen from the ever-growing atrocities of the British. The younger child Shakti Singh (Shashi Kapoor) grows up to be a part of the British but fate has something else in store for Sanga and his long lost family. Will they ever unite and get the better of the British forms the remaining part of this epic story.
