Nargis Rabadi, better known by her stage name Shammi, was a famous Indian actress who had appeared in over 200 films in a career span of around seven decades. She appeared in lead roles in many films but later appeared in comic and goofy character roles that helped to rise to fame. She started her acting career in Bollywood with the 1949 film Ustad Pedro. Her important films include Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai (1960), Samaj Ko Badal Dalo (1970), Mardonwali Baat (1988), Hum (1991), Gurudev (1993), Gopi Kishan (1994), Imtihaan (1994), Coolie No. 1 (1995), and Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999). She was married to Sultan Ahmed and the couple had one child.
