Ramkishen (Alok Nath) and his wife Mamta (Rima Lagoo) have three sons, Vivek (Mohnish Bahl), Prem (Salman Khan) and Vinod (Saif Ali Khan) and a daughter named Sangeeta (Neelam) who live together happily until one day Mamta wishes to divide the property among her sons and daughter. This does not go down well with others in the family but all succumb to her wish reluctantly. Soon Mamta realises that no one is happy with her decision and separating the family is no good.
