Achyut Potdar was a Marathi and Hindi film, theatre, and television actor whose career spanned over four decades while acting in more than 125 films, 95 serials, 26 plays and 45 ads. After competition of his education, he served the Indian Army for 5 years before joining Indian Oil in 1967. While working for Indian Oil he marked debut in 1979 with the film ‘Shaayad’ and later featured in notable films including ‘Aakrosh’, ‘Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyoon Aata Hai’, ‘Ardh Satya’, ‘Tezaab’, ‘Parinda’, ‘Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman’, ‘Dilwale’, ‘Yeh Dillagi’, ‘Rangeela’, ‘Mrityudand’, ‘Yeshwant’, ‘Ishq’, ‘Vaastav’, ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, ‘Parineeta’, ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Dabangg 2’, ‘Ventilator’, and many more. He passed away on 18 August 2025 in Mumbai.
