Rishtey is an action romantic drama. The movie revolves around Suraj Singh (Anil Kapoor), a lower-middle class man, who falls in love with a beautiful and wealthy girl named Komal (Karisma Kapoor). Despite her family’s disapproval, Komal marries Suraj and gives birth to a baby boy. However, they don’t have a smooth married life, as Komal is often misguided by her father, which forces her to leave Suraj and move out. Suraj brings up their son alone, but Komal’s father further intoxicates her, which causes her to go to court and demand full custody of her son. Komal wins the case, but this leaves Suraj and their son devastated. Will Komal ever be able to realise the truth and reunite with Suraj?
