Dev is a social drama that follows the story of Joint Commissioner of Police Dev Pratap Singh (Amitabh Bachchan), a duty-bound police officer, who shares a strong friendship with Special Commissioner Tejinder Khosla (Om Puri). Things take a turn when a young Muslim law graduate, Farhaan Ali (Fardeen Khan), takes an entry. His beliefs and story make Dev more sensitive to the plight of Muslims. This creates a rift between Dev and Tejinder, and their lifelong friendship falls in danger. Tejinder grows hateful towards Dev and challenges his beliefs. The crimes in the city too speed up. Will Dev be able to fight back and also gain his old friend’s support back, or will everything just fall apart?
