Om Puri was an Indian actor who appeared in mainstream commercial films and many art films. His first film was a children’s film Chor Chor Chhupja (1975). It was followed by his unconventional roles in mainstream movies like Aakrosh (1980), Disco Dancer (1982), Ardh Satya (1982), Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983), Maachis (1996), Chachi 420 (1997), Hera Pheri (2000), Dhoop (2003), Singh is Kinng (2008), and Tubelight (2017). He was married to Seema Kapoor, sister of actor Annu Kapoor for a short period of 8 months. In 1993, he married journalist Nandita Puri and the couple has a son named Ishaan.
