Kyon Ki… It’s Fate is a romantic drama that revolves around Anand Raisinghania (Salman Khan), a young man who goes insane after the death of his fiancé Maya Sahani (Rimi Sen), and ends up in the asylum. Years later, Anand grows close to one of the doctors in the asylum, Dr. Sunil Pradhan (Jackie Shroff), who was helped by Anand’s father to become a doctor. However, Anand’s regular commotion and childish acts irritate Dr. Tanvi Khurana (Kareena Kapoor). Things get better when she learns of Anand's disturbing past and starts falling in love with him, but her father doesn’t approve of the match because of Anand’s mental condition and past. Will the lovers ever unite with the persisting circumstances?
