Shatranj is a romantic drama. The movie revolves around three brothers - Dharamraj (Kader Khan), Dinky (Mithun Chakraborty) and Dino (Jackie Shroff). The three brothers work together in their garage. Dharamraj hates women and forbids his brothers too to ever marry. However, Dinky falls in love with Radha (Juhi Chawla) and Dino falls in love with Renu (Divya Bharti), and the brothers wish to marry their lady loves. However, Dharamraj disapproves of it, which angers his brothers and they decide to leave the house. Much later, Dinky and Dino realize the real reason for their brother’s hatred for the women, which makes them guilty of their actions. Will Dharamraj be able to forgive his brothers for their actions and finally approve of their marriage?
