Jaikishan Kakubhai Shroff, popularly known as Jackie Shroff, is an Indian actor and former model, who has been working in Bollywood for four decades. He has acted in over 220 films of 13 different languages. He applied to be a flight attendant at Air India, but was rejected because of lack of qualification, and then he started his career as a model. It was because of one of the modeling assignments that helped him to land the role in Subhash Ghai’s Hero (1983), alongside Meenakshi Seshadri. The film was a huge success that made him an overnight star, and then he continued to work with Subhash Ghai in his other projects. Other important movies of his career include Ram Lakhan (1989), King Uncle (1993), Khalnayak (1993), 1942: A Love Story (1994), Rangeela (1995), Mission Kashmir (2000), Devdas (2002), Dhoom 3 (2013) and many more. He is married to actress Ayesha Dutt, with whom he has two children, including actor Tiger Shroff.
