Laawaris is an action crime drama. The movie revolves around an honest advocate named Anand Saxena (Jackie Shroff), who lives with his wife Kavita (Dimple Kapadia) and son. They lead a middle-class lifestyle in a locality which is prone to crime. There they become the target of Uncle Karla (Govind Namdev), who is an allegiance of an underworld don Captain Dada (Akshaye Khanna). Later, Captain Dada falls in love with Anshu (Manisha Koirala), who works with Anand. Captain takes the identity of Vijay, and tries to impress Anshu by hiding the truth. Will Vijay be able to hide the truth for much longer?
